CrossFit Tysons Corner CFTC Kids Class Overview

  • Give us 60 minutes, and we’ll get your child moving. We focus on movements that they’ll use in everyday life, including:

    Running, jumping, rolling, pulling, swinging, climbing, crawling, throwing, and being upside down.

    The equipment used will keep the ability levels of kids in mind, using:

    Cones, nerf balls, boxes to jump on, plastic hurdles, plastic PVCs

  • Our goal with CrossFit Kids is to leave every class on a high point for the kids and coaches. This means that we end each session with a fun game. Things like shadow tag, hanging from a jungle-gym type structure, and using our gym’s tumbling mats are all options to have some fun.

    A bonus to all of the activity is being ready to build on the basics of CrossFit that your kid will learn in the future. Whether they’re going to play a different sport in the future, or continue with CrossFit, the CFTC Kids program will give a great basic for future sports, fitness or CrossFit.

    Geared toward ages 7 - 12

    What should I bring?

    A bottle of water with your child’s name on it

    Wear clothes & sneakers appropriate for running and jumping

    We encourage eligible children to get vaccinated prior to attending and for those who are not vaccinated to wear masks

    All CFTC Kids coaches will wear masks

    Class structure:

    General warm-up (animal movements, games)

    Specific skill (some movement instruction)

    Workout (focused on movement quality)

    Game (focus on having fun and ending on a high point)
